Dyslexia is characterized by difficulty with learning to read fluently and with accurate comprehension despite normal intelligence. This includes difficulty with phonological awareness, phonological decoding, processing speed, orthographic coding, auditory short-term memory, language skills/verbal comprehension, and/or rapid naming.
Developmental reading disorder (DRD) is the most common learning disability.
Dyslexia is the most recognized of reading disorders, however not all reading disorders are linked to dyslexia.

The boxer barely graduated from high school due to dyslexia and also has a daughter who is dyslexic.

* James "Jay" Leno is an American stand-up comedian and television host.
On The Tonight Show, Leno confirmed that he is dyslexic. He did not do very well in school getting mainly C’s and D’s. Eventually, he not only graduated but also went on to receive a bachelor's degree in speech therapy from Emerson College.

Historians believe the artist was dyslexic based on his notes being written backwards, from right to left, in a mirror image and the many spelling errors.

* Thomas Alva Edison was an American inventor credited with over 1000 patented inventions. He was noted to be terrible at mathematics, unable to focus, and had difficulty with words and speech.
Thomas Edison was dyslexic. A teacher sent the following note home with him -"He is too stupid to learn." His mother withdrew the child from school and taught him herself.
